Starting Pay Rate: Per Adjunct Faculty Pay Scale

The number of adjunct instructors hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department. Your application can remain "Under Review by Committee" for 18 months. Job Description: Harper College welcomes applicants for an adjunct Massage Therapy instructor for the Spring of 2024 semester. Courses are held during the day, evenings, and Saturdays on the Palatine Campus.

Instructors are responsible for: Developing and delivering courses as scheduled; Maintaining state licensure; Providing college with course syllabus, gradebook and course materials; Participating in program improvement initiatives, as needed.

Education Requirements: Completion of Massage Therapy program; Transcript(s) showing successful completion of 30 or more college credit hours; Current IL LMT credential; Successful completion of anatomy & physiology and/or pathology coursework beyond massage therapy training.

Preferred: Associate’s Degree or higher; Current Board Certified for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (BCTMB) credential

Experience Requirements: Minimum two years of professional practice as a Licensed Massage Therapist. NOTE: Must be eligible for licensure in IL if currently licensed out of state and have current IL LMT credential prior to start of first teaching semester.

Preferred: Teaching experience.

* Official transcripts from all post-secondary education institutions required upon hire, including transcripts or certificates documenting completion for anatomy and physiology and/or pathology coursework beyond massage therapy training.

* Employment is contingent upon Criminal Background Check, and verification of current, unencumbered IL Licensed Massage Therapist credential.
