Duties of Position: Responsible for coordinating health informatics and patient care in the clinical setting. Ensures compliance with federal HIPAA regulations. Utilize dental patient management software to develop electronic health records for dental hygiene patients. Maintains fiscal records and fee collection and processing.
Responsible for effectively representing the dental hygiene program to patients, vendors, and the surrounding community.
Informs patients regarding clinical policies and procedures, ensures patient privacy notification compliance.
Maintains electronic software data base.
Collaborates with Software Company and the Harper IT department in the design and integration of electronic records for patient assessment and implementation of care.
Collects patient data and procures reports required for a maintenance of American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation.
Procures aggregated and individual student performance data to assess student clinical progression.
Assist program coordinator in updates of Blackboard Learning Management System for the dental hygiene program.
Provides welcoming atmosphere for positive patient experiences and satisfaction.
Tracks data for validation of student experiences with special needs patient populations as required for accreditation compliance.
Tracks student radiographic imaging experiences for accreditation compliance.
Address and resolve initial patient complaints.
Coordinates patients care procedures and scheduling.
Serves as a liaison between patients, students, and faculty.
Responsible for fee collection, deposits, and accounting ledgers.
Process dental clinic insurance forms.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements: Associate's Degree required. Bachelors in business or health-related field preferred.
Experience Requirements: Minimum of one year related work experience in a dental office or health care office required. Familiarity with dental office management and software preferred; Patterson Eaglesoft preferred.Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word and Excel and familiar with Access. Demonstrated excellence in customer service skills.
Ability to balance multiple priorities; adapt readily to changing priorities, frequent interruptions and fluctuating volume of work as required by work cycles; utilize time effectively without close supervision; identify and implement improvement to systems and processes; meet deadlines; take necessary action to productively resolve issues as they arise; and interact effectively with students.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Familiarity with dental terminology is a plus.
