Duties of Position: Responsible for coordinating the functional use, development, implementation, testing and maintenance of various HR software applications. The support analyst serves as an HR technical point of contact and is responsible for reviewing, proposing, developing, and assisting HR to fully implement existing and future software tools. Responsibilities also include supporting a broad range of Human Resource report writing, data analysis, testing and other technical projects as needed.
Manages and maintains the data integrity of HR system values, codes, tables and procedures. Ensures data accuracy and identifies and resolves problems.
Partners with Information Technology to recommend, design, develop, implement, test and maintain HR-related functionality in the HR systems. This includes new initiatives within existing software and newly acquired software.
Identifies user needs and requirements, defines project scope, assesses and recommends vendors, completes detailed user requirements, prepares communication plans and completes project risk assessments and contingency plans.
Interprets and conducts user testing for all application changes, enhancements, upgrades, and patches.
Accountable for supporting quarterly releases, validation and testing.
Recommends solutions or alternatives for business process improvements.
Writes moderate to complex SQL queries and programs to optimize system efficiency and manipulate and extract data.
Develops, communicates and maintains required system documentation and user guides. These include federal and state government documents as well as internal Harper documentation.
Assists with developing and administering employee training programs as they relate to new hire HR system training, system modifications or procedural changes.
Creates reports and queries utilizing Cognos, Excel, Oracle Access, etc. for regular, ad hoc or FOIA purposes.
Assists with generating regularly scheduled reports such as ICCB, EEOC, ACA, etc.
Interprets complex relational database requests to provide accurate data within the context of the report request.
Maintains an ongoing knowledge of business operations (including HR & Accounting Services), functional relationships of data and transactional understanding.
Interfaces with all necessary campus departments (IT, Accounting, Payroll, etc).
Provides oversight for all systems, system-related projects and reports in the absence of the Systems and Employment Manager.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required. Fields of Computer Science, Business Analytics, HR or related field preferred.
Experience Requirements: At least 3 years’ experience in HRIS or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Knowledge of relational databases and report writing tools. SQL proficiency required. Excellent problem resolution skills and diligent attention to detail and accuracy is a must. Analytical ability to evaluate systems, test data and/or program logic to ensure accurate report writing required. Experience in software implementation, and team-based environments preferred. Excellent communication skills required.
