Work Conditions:  

Work is primarily indoor and sedentary in nature. Some evenings and/or weekends may be required.

Duties of Position:  

Provides leadership and direction in the planning of new program areas and the execution of existing programs.  Supervises coordinators, program leaders, instructors and support staff. Conducts market research and program development.

In the Dean’s absence, attends committee meeting and signs and submits timely documents such as salary notification and program certificates required by the state of Illinois.

Negotiates contracts with 3rd party vendors to bring new programs to Career and Technical Programs Division

Designs and implements curriculum in partnership with organizations and varying industries.

Designs, markets and maintains CPE courses that align with appropriate credit bearing courses.  

Supervises and evaluates staff, prepares performance evaluations and meets with staff regarding evaluation outcomes

Prepares and monitors budget for CPE programs including revenue estimates, staffing allocations, and capital expenditures. Responsible for meeting budget objectives, including revenue, margin and net benchmarks.

Develops pricing strategies for CPE program offerings.  Coordinates price points and implementation with other departments as needed.

Develops CPE programs and submits to appropriate CTP staff for ICCB for approval.

Conducts Program Review for ICCB CPE programs; conducts renewal application in Illinois to IDFPR for real estate program; conducts national review application to NAFTA for Veterinary Assistant program.

Identifies educational needs of the community through labor market analysis, community resources and planning/advisory committees.

Plans, develops, schedules and implements programs.  Initiates new programs to meet the changing needs and interests of the community.  Monitors existing programs to insure they are financially sound and continue to meet the needs/interests of community.

Serves on teams and committees, including Curriculum Committee, to represent Continuing Professional Education programs.

Conducts presentations internally and externally representing CPE programs.

Collaborates with other College departments, identifying and implementing new1.6 courses and programs.  Represents the College on program related off-campus committees.

Conducts analysis and review of all programs.

Attends internal and external events to promote programs.

Initiates and maintains partnerships between the College and other organizations, including other community colleges, businesses or community affiliations.

Prepares contract proposals and contracts in partnership with other organizations or businesses.

Responsible for establishing and maintaining contacts in the business and professional community. Develops partnerships and collaborations to further the mission and strategies of the College.

Articulates program offerings with state and other agencies as required.

Recruits, interviews, selects, evaluates faculty for each CPE program area. Monitors performance.

Develops course offerings/programs for State approval and/or specific professional development/credentialing related to Continuing Professional Education requirements or certification requirements.

Manages and selects membership for CPE advisory career committees.

Manages conference events that align with credit or CPE programs in the Wojcik Conference Center.

Evaluates the market potential and develops new marketing strategies to reach enrollment goals.

Coordinates special events to market CPE programs.

Collaborates in the development of the Enrollment and Marketing Plans as applies to career programs.

Collaborates in the planning, development and implementation of marketing strategies.

Develops brochure/literature design concepts or content for CPE programs in collaboration with Marketing Services.

Seeks opportunities for grant funded and/or community support for new or existing programming.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Adult Education, Curriculum and Supervision, or related field required. Masters’ Degree in Higher Education, Adult Education, Curriculum Development and/or related field; Certified Program Planner (CPP) certification preferred. Strong business background including marketing

Experience RequirementsThree years’ experience in Career Program Management required. Strong business background including marketing required.
