Duties of Position

This position will play a supporting role in promoting news, events, campaigns and other things happening on Harper’s campus through social media channels. The successful candidate will also proactively seek out Harper-related content and share information related to our program offerings, college experience and more.

Assist in developing a wide variety of digital media content for Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, Harper College’s blog and more.

Actively promote news, events, campaigns and more based on the College’s editorial content plan.

Capture Harper student life through creative and engaging social media trends, platforms and strategies.

Attend campus events and activities and document them by way of photo, video, live streaming and more.

Edit stories and publish them to the College’s blog.

Other administrative duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

In order to apply for this position, you must be a current Harper College student, enrolled in at least six credits per semester (three for summer)

Experience Requirements

Experience using social media with a focus on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

Understanding and knowledge of how college social media channels are used as a communications tool.

Excellent grammar, spelling and writing skills.

Experience with photography/photo editing (Adobe Photoshop) and videography/video editing for social media.

Schedule Information

Will determine schedule based on student's availability.   Some evening hours may be necessary to cover special events. Must have some availability to work during the following hours:

   Sunday

 

   Monday

 8:30-4:30

   Tuesday

 8:30-4:30

   Wednesday

 8:30-4:30

   Thursday

 8:30-4:30

   Friday

 8:30-4:30

   Saturday

 

 

Maximum hours per week

 

 6-15 hours a week. Hours will vary, but not conflict with classes.
