Duties of Position:  The Department of Student Involvement hosts a variety of student events and programs to enhance the student experience at Harper College. Student Event Programmers are responsible for planning, implementing and reviewing student activities and programs. The Student Event Programmer is responsible for working events such as Free Movie Fridays, Harper Hullabaloo, Welcome Week, and a variety of other events and programs coordinated or supported by the Department of Student Involvement. The student aide will promote upcoming campus activities to students on a weekly basis through person-to-person contact, social media post creation, and over the phone communication. The student aide will also have general office responsibilities such as front desk reception and other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:  In order to apply for this position, you must be a current Harper College student, enrolled in at least six credits per semester (three for summer). Student must maintain a grade point average of 2.0 or higher. 

Experience Requirements:  Familiarity with Microsoft Office required. Prior event planning and customer service training is a plus, but not required.

Schedule Information: Will determine schedule based on student's availability.  Must have some availability to work during the following hours:

Sunday

 

Monday

 8:00 a.m. - 7:00p.m.

Tuesday

 8:00 a.m. - 7:00p.m.

Wednesday

 8:00 a.m. - 7:00p.m.

Thursday

 8:00 a.m. - 7:00p.m.

Friday

 8:00 a.m. - 4:30p.m.

Saturday

 

Maximum hours per week: 20 hours. Some after-hours and evening work will occur during peak programming times.
