Work Conditions Work is primarily indoor and sedentary in nature.
Duties of Position

Responsible for researching potential funders, identifying grant opportunities, and developing grant proposals. Collaborates with faculty, administrators, and staff in developing and transforming ideas into grant proposals. Writes and edits grant proposals and applications; coordinates with external funders and funding agencies; and assists in monitoring grant-funded projects.

Develops, designs, writes, and edits concept papers, letters of interest, abstracts, and grant proposals; supports faculty, administrators and staff in the planning and development of proposals.

Actively engages in funder/prospect research by identifying potential funding sources; maintains database of funders, opportunities, awards, and organizational information boilerplate language; recommends potential funders and solicitation strategies to Director.

Reads proposal guidelines and collects, composes, and/or prepares components of proposal submissions, including project narratives/technical proposals, budget/cost proposals, financial documentation, and other supporting documentation in a timely manner to meet grant application deadlines.

Manages proposal development timelines, ensuring appropriate reviews and approvals of proposal materials are secured and that submissions occur by the application deadlines.

Provides information and technical assistance to faculty and other administrators with funding opportunities for program, projects, and initiatives that support the College’s mission, vision, and Strategic Plan; maintains and updates grants calendar.

Assists with the transition of awarded projects from Pre-award to Post-award in an organized and collaborative process; coordinates and compiles necessary documents to efficiently close-out grant programs.

Coordinates the monthly review and assessment of progress towards financial and programmatic goals and objectives with Project Directors.

Performs administrative activities for Grants Office, including but not limited to, producing reports, drafting correspondence, updating grants calendar and webpage, updating grants procedures manual, and assisting with Resource for Excellence grant program administration.

Monitors online publications for changes in legislative, regulation, and other issues affecting higher educational institutions and grant funding opportunities.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, advanced degree preferred. Combination of education, training or experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential functions.

Experience Requirements

Three years of experience writing and securing grant funding in higher education required. Training or experience in higher education, proposal development, and/or grant administration required. Ability to effectively supervise multiple projects and multiple personnel involved in these projects in accordance with College objectives, policies, and procedures. Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing. Ability to work independently as well as establish and maintain collaborative relationships with other staff, faculty and students. Advanced computer skills, including ability to gather and manipulate data and experience with a variety of software programs, including Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel).
