Duties of Position:
Acts as the functional/technical point person and leads the ongoing development and maintenance of the computer systems affecting Testing. This will include computer-based testing as well the implementation, maintenance, and upgrade functions relate to all other electronic systems driving business processes. Provides project management skills in leading these tasks.
Analyses user needs and translates into detailed specifications.
Designs, develops, implements and maintains complex technical rules in support of business processes.
Analyzes data requirements and reviews and evaluates testing -related software.
Acts as a subject matter expert in Testing related to the tools used to automate and facilitate regulations and processes.
Coordinates the Testing Center’s hardware and software needs with IT and anticipates additional hardware/software requirements.
Coordinates and provides leadership for all requests related to off-campus computer placement testing.
Creates and maintains databases used to log testing activity.
Provides in-depth quality control of all Testing Center-initiated processes that impact the student information system (Banner) prior to going into production.
Coordinates the processes related to the uploading of all assessment scores into the College’s ERP System including ALEKS math placement scores, ACT, AP, CLEP, SAT, and high school testing data. Provides leadership and direction in resolving discrepancies or database errors.
Oversees the computer lab operation and equipment with the assistance of IT
Facilitates the planning and implementation of operational and technological strategies within Admissions & Testing best practices, workflow, and information processing and communication systems.
Assists in maintaining student system validation forms and control forms and rules. These forms define the values, calculations, parameters, and processing rules that impact processing throughout the system
Acts as the technology operations liaison with other Harper College offices, and third party testing vendorsfor both the Testing Center and offices.
Monitors current computer based testing programs and investigates all future computer testing needs, liaisoning with the test or software manufacturer. Current tests include, but are not limited to, CLEP, ATI, TABE, CIS proficiency and by-pass.
Coordinates on-site computerized placement testing for outside institutions.
Maintains various departmental files.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelors’ degree in related field required.
Experience: Two years’ experience with computer software databases. Experience working with an ERP system, and report generating tools such as Cognos required.
