Duties of Position: The Center for Student Veterans and Military-Connected Students seeks a student aide to provide support to the Center, its staff and its programs. A student aide will be responsible for the following:
Assist veterans with research, registration, and tracking of veteran benefits through e-benefits and Illinois Veterans Grant and Illinois National Grant;
Provide veteran-related benefits information to student veterans and military-connected students;
Provide phone and in-person reception in the Center, greeting students and visitors, independently and without supervision and offer general information about the Center, the College and other related programs/services as appropriate;
Track visitor data (visitor counts, sign-in, purpose of visit, etc.) with responsibility for oversight of facility space and offices;
Monitor/address student common-space behavior in accordance with the student Code of Conduct;
Support staff members with various projects related to the Center’s programs and services;
Schedule appointments, complete data entry, filing, and other duties as assigned
Education Requirements: In order to be considered for this position, you must be a current Harper College student, enrolled in at least six credits per semester and/or qualify for Federal Work Study.
Experience Requirements: Familiarity or general knowledge of computers/printers; and knowledge of e-benefits through VA is preferred.
Schedule Information: Will determine schedule based on student's availability and needs of Veteran Center. Must have some availability to work between 9am - 6pm Monday through Friday.
Maximum hours per week: 20
