Duties of Position:  Writes short articles for possible distribution in the InsideHarper employee newsletter, on harpercollege.edu, social media and local traditional media. Topics may include Harper events and programs, as well as profiles on students, faculty, staff and other members of the Harper community.

Speaks with and interviews various people for articles, as necessary.

Posts articles on Harper’s website and local media websites.

Produces content for student email and/or social media.

Assists communications department with other duties as needed (this may include helping with elementary school student tours, taking photos, offering a student perspective for student-focused communication, etc.)

Personal characteristics:  The ideal candidate is a talented writer with strong interpersonal skills. Having a desire to seek out stories and an interest in communications, journalism and/or public relations are pluses. The communications student aide must be reliable, meet deadlines and have an attention to detail.

Education Requirements: In order to apply for this position, you must be a current Harper College student, enrolled in at least six credits per semester (three for summer)

Experience Requirements:  Schedule Information: Will determine schedule based on student's availability.  Must have some availability to work during the following hours:

Maximum hours per week: 20
