Schedule Information: Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm during training. Regular shift is 9:00am - 5:30pm

Work Conditions: Employee is subject to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions. Employee may be required to wear respiratory protection, hearing protection, eye protection and other personal protective equipment on a daily basis. Worker is exposed to dust and cleaning solvents. Must be able to work shift work, weekends, overtime and holidays.
Duties of Position:
Responsible for cleaning and maintaining College facilities, classrooms, offices, common areas, and restrooms.
Provide custodial services for Harper College facilities.
Cleans and maintains the College facilities, buildings, offices, classrooms, restrooms and common areas.
Performs custodial duties to include vacuuming, sweeping, scrubbing, dust mopping and wet mopping floors, furniture dusting, cleaning and replenishing restrooms supplies, emptying and cleaning waste receptacles, cleaning whiteboards, cleaning windows and walls, cleaning restrooms and other facilities as assigned, cleaning elevators and stairwells, and maintaining custodial supplies and equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Employee must operate the following tools:
- All floor machines
- Common hand tools
- Extension ladders
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform manual tasks requiring moderate strength using equipment/machinery, pull, grasp, and climb. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. occasionally. Work involves constant lifting, grasping, stooping, climbing stairs, kneeling, pushing and pulling.
Education: High school education or equivalent.
Experience: Six months to a year of janitorial/housekeeping/ custodial experience is required. Knowledge of cleaning methods, material, and equipment. Must have the necessary skills to do the following: vacuum, wet/dry vacuum, carpet extraction, shampooing, stripping and waxing of floors, shoveling.
Licensing: Valid Illinois Drivers License
