Schedule Information: M-F 8am - 4:30pm. After-hours support as necessary.

Work Conditions: Work is primarily in-doors and sedentary in nature.
Duties of Position: Responsible for the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of application software and related infrastructure in support of Continuing Education registration, enrollments, student and instructor records, marketing, and other operations. Also responsible for analysis, testing, documentation and maintenance of application systems, programs, reports, and websites to meet CE business requirements under the policies, practices and standards of the College.
Analyzes, designs, configures, extends, tests, debugs, supports and maintains CE’s applications, technical infrastructure, websites, and reports.
Installs, configures, customizes, and supports all Destiny One applications, web services, and integrations as needed.
Investigates, analyzes, researches, and fixes the root causes of basic to advanced technical issues involving the Destiny One system, Windows infrastructure and applications, and other third-party and Harper IT applications and infrastructure programs and technology.
Develops flowcharts, layouts and documentation to identify requirements and solutions in collaboration with teammates and user communities. Tests solutions to ensure they meet business requirements and performance guidelines.
Provides first-line support for CE staff users as they execute acceptance tests. Performs testing after system patching or upgrades. May include application, load, stress, usability, performance, and security testing.
Provides first-line application support to meet the needs of the student registration staff, CE instructors, and Harper College faculty as required. Researches and resolves operational incidents and problems with Harper College’s Destiny systems in accordance with first-line support standards.
Works collaboratively with colleagues to specify the technical requirements of operational objectives.
Develops and maintains application and operational documentation to facilitate effective new-user and application upgrade training.
Participates in discussions with Harper IT staff and teams on strategies related to CE requirements for new and updated systems designs, operating systems, infrastructure, architecture, process improvement, and development methodologies.
Maintains a high degree of in-depth business model knowledge related to CE operations sufficient to contribute effective in providing recommendations for system enhancements.
Participates in after-hours “on-call” support as required.
Follows Harper guidelines for data security.
Complies with state and federal regulatory requirements for higher education institutions.
Follows best practices and Harper guidelines for web standards & usability.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a computer related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and applicable experience. Certifications in Systems Administration, Systems Engineering, or Web Design and Development in a Microsoft environment are preferred.
Experience Requirements: Two years’ system administration experience required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Windows-based applications software, as well as cloud-based environments and administrative operations required. Experience with Destiny Solutions applications, Ellucian Banner or other ERP system for higher education preferred.
Works under the supervision of the CE Marketing and Operations Manager. Receives direction from other CE managers, directors and above as required. Must be capable of working independently on projects under the supervision of the CE Marketing and Operations Manager and other CE and Harper managers as assigned and must perform effectively in collaboration with CE managers and other staff as needed.
Utilizes standard office equipment and computers in order to perform the duties of the position.
